Due to construction both inbound routes 4 and 5 are on detour. From River, Left on 11th, Right on Myrtle, Left on Capitol. Stop at Capitol and River will be missed. No temp stops placed.

Inbound Route 29 going back to old detour. From Lincoln, right on University, left on Broadway to MSS. Temp Stop has been moved to Lincoln & University

Due to road closure on 8th Street, OB route 10 will be on detour from 5th Street to Fort Street. Stop on 8th and Franklin will be closed, no temp stop placed. Please go to next open stop to catch route 10.

March 11 1:00 AM

Due to construction on State and Pierce Park area both stops on inbound and outbound sides are closed and no temp stops.

September 16 8:00 AM

Due to road construction, route 16 is on detour. Stops on 1st/Idaho and 1st/Bannock will be closed, use stop on Main and 1st.

Service Changes

VRT regularly analyzes ridership, travel patterns, and development. We also engage with riders, funding partners, and stakeholders to develop service change proposals to ensure the transit network provides the best connections across the region.

Upcoming service change date: June 2, 2025

Timing adjustments

Valley Regional Transit is making schedule adjustments to select routes effective June 2, 2025 to improve on-time performance.

While the arrival time for the first major stops of each trip will remain the same, many of the intermediate major stop arrivals will shift to better reflect actual travel times for more reliable arrivals.

We encourage passengers to check bus schedules below in anticipation of the change.

Route adjustments

  • Chinden

    Instead of operating a different afternoon route between the State of Idaho Campus and Discovery, Route 8 will use the same route for morning and evening trips.

    The 8 will serve the stops on Discover before going to the State of Idaho Campus.

    Discovery will no longer be a major stop. The timepoint will now be the State of Idaho Campus stop. This will lead to the closure of the following stops.

    The alternative stops is listed below each closing stop.

  • Hill Road

    Instead of ending service at 6:45 p.m. at State & Ellens Ferry, the 10 will extend the last trip to Collister and Johns Landing NWC.

    This will allow riders trying to return home to “complete the loop” from State Street to Collister.

    The stops that will be served with this extended last trip are:

    • AB334 W Castle Dr & N Pierce Park Ln SEC
    • AB333 W Castle Dr & N Eugene St SWC

  • Caldwell Blvd & Hoffman Ln

    This stop will serve Route 42

  • Garrity Blvd & E Flamingo Ave SEC

    Bus stop CN087 will be relocated further south on Garrity and renamed Garrity Blvd & Stamm Ln NEC and serve Route 42

Other adjustments

  • State Street

    In response to rider feedback, we will rename the last major stop “State & Gary” instead of “Gary & Bunch” to align with major roads.
